Dear Visitors, Friends and Fans:

First, “Thank you!” to all of you who have used my services before and I look forward to being part of your future events.  Second, “Welcome!” to first time and repeat visitors to my site.

The various sections of www.thetowncrier.ca site give you an idea of what a Town Crier does and how much colour and ceremony he or she can add to a special occasion.  In this letter, I would like to paint an even clearer picture of my Town Crier Services.

Competitions:

Within Town Crying circles, I am known for my many successful competitions.  I have been ranked in the top ten in the World for a considerable time, including a two year stint as number two.  As well, I have been consistently in the top five in North America and am proud to say that no one has won the Ontario Provincial Championships more times than I have.

City, Chamber of Commerce, Charities:

Locally, in Brantford, I bring pageantry to most City of Brantford ceremonies, attend almost all functions of The Chamber of Commerce Brantford-Brant and kick start an amazing array of charitable events.  However, in this letter, I would like to tell you about the added zip I can bring to private and corporate parties and celebrations.

Corporate, Weddings, Other Special Occasions:

I have proclaimed store openings for small “Mom and Pop” operations as well as for large chains such as Sobey’s, PharmaPlus, and Wal-Mart.  Stores for another big chain, The Bargain Shop, were booked through The Town Crier of Markham Inc. and Town Crier Hospitality & Convention Services both owned by John Webster, the Town Crier of Markham, who is also a World Ranked Crier and holds the most wins in North American championship competitions.  You may read more about John and Mary Webster at their Town Crier Services site.  Besides store openings, I have proclaimed conventions, conferences and banquets underway throughout Southern Ontario, introduced head tables, moved chatty folk from the bar area to the dining room, launched new products and given a rousing start to many important sporting events,

I have even advertised businesses in other Provinces, the U.S.A. and overseas.  (In Alberta, I shouted in the West Edmonton Mall.  In Sidney, B.C., I promoted a copying company and a delicatessen.  I cried outside several retail businesses in Holland, Michigan where John Karsten, President of the American Guild of Town Criers was my host.  In Chester, England, where David Mitchell and Julie Mitchell are both Town Criers, I performed cries for a travel agency and a Starbucks.

A complete section of my web site is dedicated to weddings, as they are very special indeed.  However, weddings are not the only wonderful days in a person’s life.  Birthdays, especially the turning point years (e.g. 30th, 40th, 50th & 60th), the birth of a baby, a golden, silver or diamond anniversary or jubilee, any of the magic moments that make us human are worth shouting about.  Even a divorce could rate a good cry under certain circumstances.

As a visitor to www.thetowncrier.ca, I would like you to know that I am your Town Crier and invite you to let your imagination run rampant to see if there is room for the ever audible and laudable David McKee, Town Crier in the programme for your event.  Then contact me personally.  I just shout loud.  I don’t bite.

Audibly & laudably,

David V. McKee,
Town Crier, Brantford
